I get a great wireless signal on my Mac - and a horrendous one on my PC. I've changed the orientation of the antenna, and tried a different adapter, all to no avail. It's simply not possible to run a cable to the wireless router (WRT54G), as it is owned and operated by my property owner, but it is possible to run an ethernet cable between the pc and the Mac, or from the Mac and PC to ANOTHER WRT54 that is NOT connected to the internet. Any hope in just connecting the two machines to get decent internet access on my PC?  Huh Thanks in advance.

Yes you can. If you connect the ethernet ports on the two machines, then just enable internet sharing on the mac (System Prefs, Sharing, Share Internet), configure it to share your wireless connection over ethernet. Then just set up the PC to get an internet connection over ethernet itself. That should work just find.

I agree to your statement, this is feasible to use the two machine just follow the instructions above shown by l008com.
