Check members' IP

Hi guys,
I'm a newbie in this forum and not a pro in computer security. I'm very sorry because my first post is a question, on the other hand I do not know where I can post this... Move it to the right place for me please.
My situation is a question about forum members' IP. I joined some forums in my country (Vietnam), my friends said that MOD could check (or find) my IP address. I know they (MODs) are suppoted a forum tool to do that, in case of I'm a member if I would like to check my friends' IP, I could do or not? If yes, how could I do and which tool do I need?
Please help me

Every forum software is different, but most likely, only the forum administrators would have the ability to see member's IP addresses.
